GM Lothar Vogt, SC Eppingen, won in the 1st round of the Malta Open which started yesterday He beat the norwegian Runar Mathisen from Nordstrand. Arild Johansen from Horten won against Jutta Klotz.In the second round tonight Vogt has black against Valentin Dragnev (2044) while Johansen has white against the Swede Josef Ask (2184). The 7th game of the World Championship has finished. World Champion Vishy Anand continued with 1.e4 and Magnus answered with the Berlin Defence. Stian Johansen er Norgesmester i Klasse A under NM for ungdom i Hamar. Stian som spiller for Alta SKU remiserte Henrik Storesund fra OSSU og vant med 5,5 av 7 foran Elise Forså fra Tromsø SKU på 5 poeng. Elise tapte for Ødon Toth Engegård i siste runde. Storesund ble nummer 3 med 5 poeng.
Johan-Sebastian Christiansen fra Vålerenga SKU vant en overlegen seier i klasse B med 6,5 poeng etter seier i finalemøtet med Henrik Øie Løbersli fra Kristiansund.
Andrè Nielsen fra Alta SKU vant klasse E med 6,5 poeng, et halvt poeng foran Tor Fredrik Kaasen fra Tromsø SKU og med Maria Næss, Tiger SKU på tredje plass med 5,5 poeng.
Sebastian Mihajlov fra OSSU vant klasse C med 6,5 poeng. På de neste plassene fulgte Eivind .Djurhuus, Nordstrand SKU og Sondre Merkesvik, Bergens SKU med 6 og 5,5 poeng. I klasse F gikk Bjørn Robertsen fra Moss SKU til topps med 6 poeng foran Isak Sjøberg fra Nordstrand SKU og Sondre Piiksi fra Moss SKU. Begge disse fikk 5,5 poeng. GM Magnus Carlsen used his brilliant endgame technique to book his first black win against World Champion Vishy Anand.The 6th game of the World Championship match followed the same path as the last two: Magnus pushing. And again the world champion had nothing in the opening. He made some strange decisions in the middle game taking on a double pawn on e3 and e4. And like Fischer 42 years ago, Magnus pushed his older opponents in drawn endgames. Yet again Anand showed big weaknesses in a rook endgame. The horrible mistake 60.Ra4??? lost the game on the spot. Magnus cashed in the win and now leads 4-2. The match is now practically over. Magnus has shown that he is the strongest player and will never give away this lead. I bet the match is over after the 10th game, Magnus winning 6,5-3,5 and becoming the 16th World Champion. The 7th game will be played on Monday half past ten (10.30 a.m.).
