Gunter IM in his 40s

IM Gunter Spieß (55) from Leipzig is an active player. He
established himself as one of the best players in Leipzig
as DDR still existed. Now 30 years later he is still a very
strong player. He plays 2.Bundesliga for Nickelhütte Aue.
As Uwe Kersten he became IM when he was over 40.
Gunter took a IM-norm at the European Championship
in Dresden in Sachsen in 2007. In that tournament he
beat a strong player like GM Dorian Rogozenko who
has worked as coach for Germanys men.
