IM Gunter Spieß (left) from Nickelhütte Aue won the Sachsen
championship in rapid chess on Saturday with 6 points in 7
rounds. He distanced IM Hannes Langrock and FM Christoph
Natsidis with 0,5 points. Langrock also qualify for the German
rapid championship in the Autumn.
In the blitz championship on Sunday FM Paul Zwahr from
Grün-Weiß Dresden was the dominating player with 16 points
in 18 rounds. Langrock followed in 2nd Place with 14,5 points.
IM Gunter Spieß was third with 14 points. Zwahr and Langrock
qualified for the German blitz championship in the Autumn.
