Exworldchampion Vladimir Kramnik was under hard
pressure against GM Anton Korobov in the second game
in their quarterfinalmatch of the FIDE World Cup in Tromsø.
Kramnik managed to save a lost position and advances to
the semifinals where he will face the winner of the match
between GM Fabiano Caruana and GM Maxier Vachier-
Lagrave. They played another draw yesterday and are
tied at 1-1. GM Evgeny Tomashevsky exploited on some
errors from GM Gata Kamsky and won with black. He is
through to the semis after 1,5-0,5 against the American.
He will play the winner of the match between GM Peter
Svidler and GM Dmitry Andreikin. They played a short
draw yesterday and with 1-1 that match is also going to
