Grandmaster Simen Agdestein (2567 showed no mercy in the last round of the
tournament Open Sant Marti in Barcelona. After beating GM Nazar Firman
Agdestein ended up on 8,5 points in 9 rounds with an eloperformance of
2901, only GM Magnus Carlsen among the Norwegians have done better
before.Simen shows excellent form before he meets GM Etienne Bacrot in
the World Cup in Tromsø next month. Agdestein`s new elo rating wll be
2595 –  a jump of 28 points! GM Alexandar Kovchan (UKR 2577), Firman
and GM Mauricio Flores Rio (CHI 2492) followed on the next places.
