as Genf beat SG Zürich 5-3 in a top Meeting in the 7th round of the
Nationalliga A. The Leipziger GM Lothar Vogt drew against the
earlier World Championship candidate GM Andrei Sokolov on the
4th board.As leaders Winterthur was destroyed 1-7 against Riehen,
Genf leads with 12 points, just half a game point ahead of Riehen
before the final doble round 27.-28.October in Lausanne.There we
will see the top meetings in the 8th round between Winterhur and
gend and SG Zürich-Riehen. In the 9th round we have Genf-Riehen
and Winterthur-SG Zürich. A very exciting final is to be expected.
