FM Thomas Schunk (left) from SG Leipzig has a fine tournament
inthe Äskulap-Turnier in Görlitz. Thomas played a strong attacking
game, sacrificing rook for three pawns and attack. At the end
Schunk mated GM Zigurds Lanka on d4. The Leipziger FM has 4
points and black against The Polish IM Michal Luch tomorrow.
The Ukraine GM Vladimir Sergeev (right) beat IM Virginijus Dambrau-
skas in the 5th round and is in sole lead with 4,5 points.
Manuel Pietzsch is in Görlitz as a spectator. He watched his team
mates in SG Leipzig in the rounds today. Nice to see you again,
Manuel!
A nice cup of kakao gave me energy in the last part of my game
against Rainer Röhl (2105). I won an ending and have 4 points.
I face GM Lev Gutman with white in the 6th round tomorrow.
Pål Røyset won against Eliza Silz this afternoon and has 3,5 points.
Pål has black against Frank Schönfeld tomorrow morning. A fine
chance for a victory.
After the game we went out and ate.We grabbed some calzone and
pizza. A nice Kellnerin made the photo.
Enough for now. I will come back with the last reportage tomorrow
evening. The 6th round starts 8.00 Saturday. The last round (7th
round) starts at 14.00

Sven: Takk for hyggelig ord, Sven. Pål stod distansen helt ut og fortjent seier mens undertegnede gikk all inn med Trompovsky. Denne gang holdt det ikke mot en godt forberedt GM Lanka.Men vi prøver igjen neste gang.
