Rethymno Open: Can Johan-Sebastian get revenge?


Johan-Sebastian Christiansen will yet again face grandmaster Spyridon
Skembris with the black pieces. Last time they played was in Paleohora
Open 2012 and back then Spyridon won. Now the players will meet in
the 4th round of the Rethymno Open. Yet again Skembris has the advantage
of playing with the white pieces. The question is if Johan-Sebastian can
strike with the black pieces this afternoon. We will se…
A half point behind Johan-Sebastian we find the other Norwegians Gunnar
Stray, Karle Stangeland and IM Petter Haugli. Gunnar and Karle both won
in the 3rd round. Petter had a promising position against IM Alexei
Gavrilov from russia,but he blundered on move 38 with Rc5? (Kf2 was
about equal) and lost some moves later.In the 4th round today Gunnar and
Karle will meet IMs. Petter on the other hand has black against a pretty good
2018-player. It will be interesting to follow the games today.The round starts
5.30 p.m greek time (16.30 norsk tid).
