The chess festival in Gronningen will
feature a match between the old top
players GM Anatoly Karpov and GM
Jan Timman. They have had a strong
rivalry beginning in 1969 when Karpov
beat Timman in the Junior World Championship,
becoming champion. In 1993 Karpov
beat Timman in the FIDE World Championship
Match in the Netherlands. Now they will
play a match over four games to celebrate the
Russian-Netherland year. Timman will
certaintly be eager to get revenge.The
first game will be played 26.December.
