GM Shakrijar Mamedzarov from Ayerbaijan won the
FIDE Grand Prix in Beijing. Mamedyarov drew GM
Boris Gelfand in the last round.Mamedyarov ended up
with 7 points in 11 eleven rounds.GM Alexander Grischuk
came in 2nd place with 6,5 points.GM Peter Leko and GM
Veselin Topalov shared 3rd place with 6 points. Topalov
has allready won the total grand prix and has qualified for
the next candidates tournament. Mamedyarov is second but
Grischuk and Caruana can pass him if they win the last Grand
Prix-tournament in Paris (18.September-2.October).Number two
is also qualified for the candidates tournament, so much is on stake.
