Karl 1/2018 out for sale

The German unofficial World
Champion Karl Ernst Adolf
Anderssen is discussed in the
new number of the German
culture chess magazine Karl (1/18).
He was regarded as the first
World Champion in chess – unofficially
after he won the strong London-
tournament in 1851. He was then
beaten by Morphy in 1858, but after
Morphy retired, Anderssen was again
regarded as the number 1 player
in the chess world. The German
chess theoretician and diplomat
Tassilo von Heydebrand und der Lasa
is also being portraited here. There are
also an article about the candidates
tournament in Berlin in March.
This Magazine costs 6 euros and
shipping costs. I think it will cost about
11 euros, a bit more then 100 Norwegian
kroner. Run and buy!

Brun vant Vestfoldmesterskapet

I helgen var Horten vertskap for Vestfoldmesterskapet
i sjakk. Alt forløp denne gang i skjønneste orden når
sjakkspillerne satte hverandre stevne i kystbyen i
Vestfold. Nicolai Brun fra Tønsberg fikk til topps med
4 poeng, på bedre kvalitet enn toer Pål Farmen fra
Caissa og treer Thor Roverud, også fra Caissa. Den
tidligere mesterspillere Arild Johansen spilte litt for
mange remiser og måtte dermed ta til takke med 4.plass
med 3,5 poeng.
