Aronian won Sinquefield Cup


Grandmaster Levon Aronian won the Sinquefield Cup after drawing GM
Veselin Topalov in the last round. He ended up with 6 points in 9 rounds.
World Champion Magnus Carlsen ended up in 2nd place with 5 points
after drawing GM Vishy Anand.Nakamura, Vachier-Lagrave and Giri
also had 5 points and followed in the next  places.In the Grand Chess Tour
overall standing Topalov leads with 17 points. Nakamura follow on
16 points, Aronain has 15 and Carlsen 14. Magnus can win in the
overall standing if he wins London Chess Classic in December.

Sinquefield Cup: Aronian close to victory


World Champion Magnus Carlsen (right) had a winning position against
GM Hikaru Nakamura in the 8th round of the Sinquefield Cup, but with
a careless 39.Be3? he let it drop.39.Ba4! keeps the winning position. Magnus
tried over 60 moves to win with two bishops against rook. With this
draw Magnus lies on 4,5 points, one point behind the leader GM Levon
Aronian who drew GM Vishy Anand as white.The games Grischuk-Vachier-
Lagrave, Giri-Caruana and So-Topalov also ended in draw. Read the
