1.Bundesliga: Karpov beat Kempinski


Exworldchampion Anatoly Karpov
was back in play for his German
club Hockenheim in the opening of
the 1.Bundesliga in Hamburg today,
Hockenheim had difficulties with
the team while many players very
busy. Team manager Dieter Auer
contacted Karpov, and the senior
stepped in. Karpov got nothing special
from the opening, but after Kempinski
erred with 27.-Rfd8? (27.-Rad8 is Equal)
Karpov played 28.Rd6! and soon won
a pawn. Karpov converted the endgame.
His team Hockenheim won 5,5-2,5.
The champions Solingen beat SF Berlin
5,5-2,5 and OSG Baden-Baden won 6-2
against FC Bayern Munich. Tomorrow
