Exworldchampion Vladimir Kramnik started the Russian Superfinal with a win against
GM Anton Shomoev. The 1st round yesterday was extremely hard fought with decisive
results in all the five games. We also mention that GM Dmitry Andreikin beat GM Sergei
Karjakin and that GM Peter Svidler beat GM Ian Nepomniatchtchi. GM Nikita Vitiugov and
GM Ernesto Inarkiev also won their games. In the woman´s section GM Valentina Gunina
scored a victory and GM Alexandra Kosteniuk lost her game.The 2nd round starts 3 p.m.
