Grandmaster Normunds Miezis participates in the II Sigulda District Rapid
Chess Championship back home in Latvia. Miezis should be in excellent
form after his win in Västerås Open last week.This tournament will go over
12 rounds with the time control 12 minutes and 5 seconds for each move.
There are five grandmasters taking part. GM Alexei Shirov (2704) is the
big favourite, but will be challenged by Neiksans, Sveshnikov, Kveinys and
Miezis. The 1st round starts at 2 p.m. (14.00) local time. Follow the
