Grandmaster Andrey Rychagov defended his title in Paleochora Open.
The Russian was successfull with the concept of winning with white and
drawing as black.In the last round today he drew pretty quickly with the
black pieces against GM Alberto David from Italy.Rychagov took the trophy
and the 1st price check with 7,5 points.Ten players followed on 7 points.
The best of them on Sonnenborg-Berger points were Russian compatriot GM
Alexander Kharitonov and GM Alberto David.Håvard M.Skagseth was best
of the Norwegians with 33rd place after scoring 6 points. Håvard won in
the last round.Many of the particapants travel to Rethymno to participate in
Rethymno Chess Tournament which starts on Sunday. Among them will
be some Norwegians like Trygstad, Harestad, Johansen, Flaata and Skagseth.
